About the Role

We are seeking to employ an proactive and enthusiastic Electrical Design Engineer to join our expanding team in Manchester.

As an experienced professional who ideally holds professional accreditation or is actively pursuing it, you will bring an extensive portfolio demonstrating your expertise and capabilities.

You will deliver your design services within a diverse and challenging range of design projects. Your project range will vary, demonstrating experience across a range of different scales, complexity, sectors, and geographies.

Your Responsibilities

  • Prepare and develop electrical design documentation, drawings, and specifications to a high standard.
  • Support project delivery activities including coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Contribute to quality control by reviewing design outputs for accuracy and compliance with client briefs and industry regulations.
  • Assist with technical calculations and ensure designs consider sustainability and efficiency.
  • Liaise with senior engineers and project leads to address design queries and implement feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to support seamless project progression.

Requirements

Background & Qualifications

  • A degree (BEng/BSc or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in electrical design within building services or consultancy environments.
  • Professional membership (or working towards it) is desirable but not essential at this level.

Skills

  • Good understanding of electrical systems, building services principles and relevant regulations.
  • Ability to produce accurate design drawings and documentation.
  • Solid communication skills for working within project teams and liaising with clients when required.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn from senior colleagues.
