My client is a well-established Building Services Consultancy, renowned for delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical design solutions across a diverse range of sectors throughout the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a talented and experienced Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team in the Manchester office.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of innovative projects, with a clear pathway towards achieving Chartered Engineer status. If you are passionate about electrical design and thrive in a collaborative environment, we would love to hear from you.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing electrical systems for a variety of building projects
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Conducting technical analysis and preparing detailed reports
  • Attending meetings with clients and stakeholders to discuss project progress and requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with current industry standards and regulations
  • Supporting the delivery of sustainable and energy-efficient design solutions

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce electrical building services designs across a broad range of projects
  • Oversee project delivery from concept through to completion
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and calculations
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and internal design teams
  • Attend project and client meetings, providing technical expertise and leadership
  • Ensure all designs comply with current regulations and best practices
  • Support and mentor junior engineers where required

Required Skills And Experience

  • Minimum 3 years experience within Electrical Building Services Engineering
  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Strong technical knowledge of building services design principles
  • Proficiency in:
    • Revit
    • Dialux
    • AutoCAD
    • Bluebeam
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ambition to progress towards Chartered Engineer status

Desirable Experience

Experience within the following sectors would be advantageous:

  • Education
  • Healthcare

However, candidates from all project backgrounds are encouraged.
