Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking for a stable, office-based role where you can develop your technical expertise and contribute to the design of advanced industrial systems?
Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Huntingdon
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000
This Electrical Design Engineer role focuses on creating, developing and overseeing the design, testing and implementation of electrical systems and components across a range of technical projects. You will work closely with mechanical, software, production and quality teams to ensure designs are safe, compliant, reliable and suitable for real-world industrial use.
Responsibilities:
- Designing electrical systems and circuits, including power distribution, control panels, motor drives and communication interfaces
- Creating electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using CAD software
- Specifying and selecting electrical components including sensors, actuators, power supplies, relays and circuit breakers
- Working with mechanical and software engineers to integrate electrical designs into complete systems
- Testing, troubleshooting and debugging electrical components and systems
- Preparing technical documentation including schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs and assembly instructions
- Supporting production during assembly, testing and continuous improvement activity

Requirements:
- Previous experience working as an Electrical Design Engineer
- CAD experience ideally using AutoCAD (other packages are also considered)
- Strong understanding of electrical principles, power systems, motor controls and PLC integration
- Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects
