About the Role
Are you a seasoned Electrical/Control & Instrumentation professional looking to take ownership of a critical site and lead a high-performing EC&I function? This is a ** Standout opportunity** to step into a role where you’ll have real influence, responsibility, and scope to drive continuous improvement.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
As the site’s Electrical Duty Holder, you will be the go-to technical authority for all EC&I activity—ensuring the plant remains safe, compliant, and consistently available to support operational performance. Your key responsibilities will include:-
• Legal Electrical Duty Holder – Ensuring all systems meet statutory and internal safety standards. • Expert authority on EC&I systems – Guaranteeing safe maintenance and maximum plant availability. • Collaborate across functions – Work with mechanical and operations teams to plan preventive and reactive maintenance that meets commercial KPIs. • Lead and mentor – Manage a team of electricians and EC&I technicians, including schedules, safe systems of work, and 24/7 call-out rotas. • Contract management – Oversee contractors and EC&I contract requirements, ensuring quality and cost-effective services. • CMMS development – Drive alignment of Condition Monitoring Management System (CMMS) with O&M manuals and plant needs. • Monitoring systems – Manage installation, testing, operation, and optimisation of machine protection systems. • Fault resolution – Investigate, diagnose, and rectify EC&I faults across the plant. • Plant control – Administer and maintain control systems, including fault-finding, updates, and system backups. • Outage planning – Plan and deliver complex outages to meet operational needs. • Budget oversight – Own and control the EC&I OPEX/AOP budget alongside site leadership. • Spare parts management – Maintain critical inventory to guarantee uptime. • Sustainability drive – Champion energy-saving initiatives and guide the business towards net-zero operations. • Legislative compliance – Maintain BS7671 and BS6626 standards while pushing for continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For
A forward-thinking EC&I professional with:
• Strong technical expertise in industrial electrical and control systems. • Experience as a duty holder or in a high-responsibility role. • Ability to manage teams, contractors, and budgets efficiently. • Proactive mindset and a passion for operational excellence. • Drive for innovation and commitment to sustainability goals. • Proven experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting:
- Electrical distribution systems (110V to 11kV)
- LV final circuits, MCCs, motor control systems
- HV switchgear, LV/HV motors, VSDs, and HV transformers • Ability to act as Site HV Senior Authorised Person (SAP).
