About The Role

Job Summary

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing and developing mechanical/electromechanical systems and components, supporting planning, testing, and implementation. This dual role involves:

  • Engineering team collaboration
  • On-site field service support
  • Preparation of field service reports and shop engineering assistance

Training will be provided as part of the onboarding process.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for customer requests (phone/onsite)
  • Conduct unplanned on-site troubleshooting of electrical systems, including:
    • Motors (AC/DC)
    • Generators
    • Electrical rotating equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) checks on electrical machinery using industry tools
  • Study engineering documents to formulate project roadmaps
  • Comply with safety, environmental, and ISO procedures
  • Manage assigned tasks under direction of Operational Line (O.L.) leads
  • Develop innovative processes using cutting-edge technology
  • Develop field service procedures for fault scenarios
  • Maintain up-to-date project documentation, producing reports as required
  • Act as a quick-response team member for customer communication and support
  • Assist in shop projects as directed by O.L. leads
  • Learn and document troubleshooting/repair procedures from senior colleagues
  • Communicate project status and milestones with cross-functional teams
  • Travel for diagnosis and repair at customer sites

Qualifications

Experience (required):

  • 4+ years in electrical engineering, specialising in:
    • Electric motor/generator repair and design
    • Transformer repair/design
    • Switchgear diagnostics
  • Proficiency in power theory and practical operational knowledge:
    • Induction and synchronous motor operation
    • Transformer principles
    • Semiconductor operation
    • Winding insulation testing
