Electrical Engineer

7 Steel UK - Cardiff

Up to £52,000 plus £2,550 callout & 10% bonus

About the Role

Joining our Rod and Bar Mill team as an Electrical Engineer, you’ll be working on some of the largest pieces of kit and machinery you’ll find in the industry. Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan, prioritise, schedule, and manage electrical activities, for example planned maintenance programmes, shut-downs, or emergency repairs.
  • Undertake development performance reviews for electrical craftspeople.
  • Ensure that risk assessments, method statements and permits are created, implemented and followed.
  • Estimate the cost, time, and resources required for repair and improvement projects.
  • Work directly with engineers in other disciplines and shift managers to ensure effective running of the process.

Working within the wider Engineering Management Team, you’ll be leading and managing projects as well as a team of Electrical Technicians. Analysis, design and planning are important responsibilities, as well as being down on the plant and getting stuck in.

Key Requirements

You will be an experienced Electrical Engineer, who is passionate about continuous learning and is always looking to widen their skill set. You will have experience in a heavy industry environment, and enjoy hands on, practical engineering.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
