Job Title - Electrical Engineer

Duration - 12 Month Contract

Working Model - Hybrid (2 days per week in Central London)

Hourly Rate - Circa £40p/hour (Outside IR35)

Electrical Engineer Overview

My client is seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide engineering support on single point mooring projects for FPSO and FSO facilities within a specialist engineering consultancy. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of complex offshore projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, vendors, and clients to ensure high-quality engineering solutions are delivered in line with industry standards and project requirements.

The Electrical Engineer Role Will Involve:

  • Providing electrical engineering support on single point mooring projects for FPSO and FSO facilities
  • Preparing and reviewing Ex equipment datasheets
  • Developing and maintaining electrical load lists, cable sizing calculations, and voltage drop calculations
  • Preparing and reviewing specifications for electrical equipment and switchboards
  • Reviewing vendor documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications
  • Liaising with vendors and supporting technical queries throughout project delivery
  • Coordinating with site teams and providing engineering support during project execution
  • Ensuring engineering documentation complies with relevant industry standards and project requirements

The Electrical Engineer Will Need to Have the Following Attributes:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience within the oil & gas, petrochemical industries
  • Good knowledge of hazardous area equipment and IEC 60079 standards
  • Experience preparing and reviewing electrical engineering documentation and calculations
  • An understanding of industrial communication networks
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • The ability to work effectively with vendors, clients, and multidisciplinary project teams

  • Instrumentation experience
  • LV switchboard package experience
  • Experience working on FPSO or FSO projects
  • Experience with single point mooring systems
  • Classification society experience
