We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead our Electrical Engineering Department at Barony and play a key role in delivering safe, reliable and efficient manufacturing operations. The Role
As the Electrical Engineer, you will lead the delivery of a safe, reliable and cost-effective electrical engineering service that maximises plant availability, supports operational performance and drives continuous improvement.
You will be responsible for leading a team of electrical engineers and technicians, developing maintenance strategies, supporting capital projects and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and Company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop the Electrical Engineering team.
- Maximise reliability and availability of manufacturing equipment and site electrical infrastructure.
- Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programmes.
- Lead electrical fault diagnosis, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Plan and support capital investment projects, equipment upgrades and commissioning activities.
- Ensure compliance with electrical, health and safety and statutory requirements.
- Manage departmental budgets, resources, contractors and critical spare parts.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Monitor and report departmental performance, maintenance activities and improvement plans.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering and Group colleagues to support business objectives.

About You
You will be an experienced electrical engineering professional with a strong maintenance and leadership background gained within manufacturing, industrial or process environments.
Essential
- Degree, HND, Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Time-served Electrician.
- Previous supervisory or management experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge and practical experience of Siemens automation systems, including TIA Portal and S5/S7 PLC programming, fault finding and system modification.
- High Voltage Switching certification.
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
- Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Experience of SEW variable frequency drive (VFD) systems, including configuration, fault diagnosis and performance optimisation.
- Advanced Health & Safety qualification.
- Project management experience.
