Role Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our client-focused team in Birmingham, supporting diverse sectors including public, environmental, commercial, and education.
This role is ideal for a proactive Electrical Engineer with:
- Experience in surveying electrical building infrastructure
- Ability to undertake design from RIBA Stages 0-4
- Comfort in providing technical advice to clients during construction
The candidate will help develop and grow our M&E service while aligning with business goals and actively contributing to project outcomes.
Role Responsibilities
Technical & Project Support
- Conduct project feasibility studies
- Perform detailed technical design of electrical services
- Produce technical drawings
- Develop full electrical tender packages
- Monitor electrical works on-site, ensuring confidentiality and quality
- Conduct electrical condition surveys
- Execute pre-acquisition, dilapidation, and Preventive/Predictive Maintenance (PPM) surveys
- Provide technical advisory roles to clients and contractors, refining project designs
- Develop commercial strategies
- Comply with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security (EHSS), and Quality standards

Collaboration & Compliance
- Work closely with internal project teams, advising and liaising with them
- (Note: Previous note on monitoring electrical compliance matches earlier line [redundant])
Candidate Profile
Must-Have Qualifications & Attributes
- Client service excellence and a proactive, team-oriented mindset with strong commercial results
- Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to monitor electrical works on site
- AutoCAD proficiency is essential
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel where projects require it (scheduled to Midlands area)
Preferred Qualifications
- BSc (Hons) degree in Electrical Engineering (minimum)
- A **Chartered status or pathway to Membership with the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (MCIBSE or equivalent)
Key Experiences
- Project/role experience in technical engineering, surveying, or site engineering
- Experience with electrical design from RIBA Stages 0-4
- Fault assessment, remediation, and lifespan estimation expertise
- Use of tablets, CAD/Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) (Beneficial:* Revit knowledge)
- Diploma in Building Services Engineering or similar recognised qualifications
