Critical Services Shift Technician – London (CBRE Global Workplace Solutions)

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Critical Services Shift Technician to join our team in London.


About The Role

As a CBRE Critical Services Technician, you will resolve and complete day-to-day work orders to meet customer satisfaction targets and ensure completion within the required timeframe.

This position falls under the Critical and Technical Services job function, responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments.

Please Note: This role operates under a continental shift pattern (a mix of day and night shifts).

Role Responsibilities

Essential Duties

  • Qualify as an Authorised Person (AP) within 6 months of onboarding.
  • Maintain an up-to-date log of completed and outstanding work via the in-house system.
  • Ensure all contractors and staff comply with company, client, safety and security requirements.
  • Participate in the Critical Services Training Program.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and management teams.
  • Collaborate with other technicians by sharing expertise to troubleshoot operational issues.
  • Provide holiday, training, and sickness cover for shift team members.

Technical Tasks

  • Track and complete Critical Services Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
  • Conduct condition assessments of plant and equipment.
  • Log and resolve out-of-line situations while filing incident reports.
  • Solve straightforward problems using existing procedures under limited discretion.
  • Follow defined procedures to achieve output under close supervision.

Skills

Essential

  • Good technical & fault-finding skills
  • Educated to a minimum of City & Guilds Level 2-3 in Electrical (or equivalent, e.g., HNC)
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to write procedures

Desirable

  • Apprenticeship (or equivalent) in Electrical/Mechanical Installation
  • Report writing skills

Knowledge

Essential

  • Strong understanding of Mechanical & Electrical Services operations
  • Ability to interrogate and operate Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Knowledge of business-critical services, including UPS, generators, and communications rooms

Desirable

  • 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations certification
  • HV (High Voltage) training
