Electrical Engineer- Continental Shift
Critical Services Shift Technician – London
CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Critical Services Shift Technician to join our team in London.
About the Role
As a CBRE Critical Services Technician, you will resolve and complete day-to-day work orders to ensure customer satisfaction targets are met within required time frames. This role falls under the Critical and Technical Services job function, responsible for technical maintenance in critical client environments.
Note: This position operates under a continual shift pattern (mix of days and nights).
Role Responsibilities
- Qualify and act as an Authorised Person (AP) within six months of onboarding
- Maintain an up-to-date log of completed and outstanding items via the in-house system
- Ensure compliance with company, client safety, and security requirements from all contractors and staff
- Participate in the Critical Services training program
- Maintain effective communication between clients and the management team
- Collaborate with other technicians by sharing skills and problem-solving expertise
- Cover shifts—holidays, training, and sickness—for other team members
- Track and complete Critical Services Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
- Log and resolve out-of-line situations via incident reports
- Troubleshoot straightforward problems using established procedures (limited discretion)
- Operate within clearly defined duties under direct supervision and guidance

Skills & Requirements
Essential Skills
- Strong technical and faultfinding skills
- Qualifications: minimum City & Guilds in Electrical (or equivalent HNC)
- Excellent administrative skills
- Fully computer literate
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to draft and maintain procedures
Desirable Skills
- Electrical/Mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent program
- Experience with report writing
Essential Knowledge
- Deep understanding of Mechanical & Electrical Services
- Ability to interrogate and operate Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Knowledge of business-critical services, including UPS, generators, and communications rooms
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Certified in 18th Edition IEE Regulations
- High Voltage (HV) training
