Contract Role - Electrical Engineer (Inside IR35)
Location: Midlands (Hybrid working)
British Citizenship required in order to be able to obtain SC clearance
Must Have
- A relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, or significant experience in an electrical design engineering environment.
- Good technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, electrical circuit design, and testing procedures.
- Proficiency in the use of E-Plan or similar design software, for the creation of electrical circuit diagrams.
- Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD for the creation of 2D drawings.
- Good engineering, communication, and organizational skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the use of Siemens Teamcenter PLM Software for BoM creation & management.
- Some experience in project management or project planning.
- Prior experience on active magnetic bearings.
About the Role
As a Systems Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing electrical systems design of motors, generators, electrical drives, and switchboards for marine and power generation applications. You will be involved at all stages of the system design process from concept to delivery of equipment and systems. You will be working with project managers, technical leads, and power systems and power electronics teams to deliver projects to customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Integrate electrical systems to meet customer requirements.
- Create detailed circuit diagrams using E-Plan and electrical equipment 2D layouts using AutoCAD.
- Create and manage parts and BoMs in Siemens Teamcenter PLM system (desirable).
- Act as a principal point of contact for the electrical design portions of project execution, providing clear guidance to other engineering teams for design requirements, supporting the manufacturing of our equipment and procurement of electrical parts and assemblies, and helping resolve quality issues with vendors.
- Participate in factory acceptance testing and support the quality function in the timely resolution of customer issues and the identification of root causes.
- Ensure that ‘Design for Manufacture and Assembly’ techniques are implemented in the design process.
- Participate in technical reviews of designs, providing support for the resolution of problems and ensuring all designs incorporate best engineering practice.

Experience Required
- A relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, or significant experience in an electrical design engineering environment.
- Design experience from a systems integration background.
- Good technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, electrical circuit design, and testing procedures.
- Proficiency in the use of E-Plan or similar design software, for the creation of electrical circuit diagrams.
- Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD for the creation of 2D drawings.
- Good engineering, communication, and organizational skills.
- Sole British citizenship with a valid British Passport (“UK Eyes only”).
- Possession of or being capable of obtaining SC level security clearance.
