Your Purpose
As an Electrical Engineer within one of our four business units, you will provide electrical engineering support to projects in the Anglian Water region.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design and specify:
- LV electrical installations and distribution systems (specifications, schedules, data sheets, and drawings)
- LV assemblies (i.e., MCCs, LV switchboards and control panels)
- Review LV electrical designs produced by framework contractors, including:
- Electrical schematics
- Cable calculations
- Termination diagrams
- Liaise with team members, construction crews, operations staff, suppliers, and utility companies on technical issues
- Specify and select instrumentation based on the process design

About You
We are looking for someone with ideally the following criteria:
- Demonstrable experience as an Electrical Design Engineer
- A strong Electrical Engineering background
- The willingness to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and solve complex challenges
- Experience in the water industry is desirable
- A full UK driving licence (due to site visit requirements)
This role may align you with one of our four business units:
Place Based Thinking
Delivering some of the largest and most complex projects across the @one Alliance. Responsible for 19 catchments (Whitlingham, Flag Fen, Great Billing, Cotton Valley, Bedford, Colchester, Ipswich Cliff Quays) and managing:
- Rising mains & gravity mains
- Pumping stations
- Large spilling overflows
- Water recycling centres
Water
Provides strategic support for the clean water network, ensuring:
- Hydraulic performance and infrastructure planning
- Future network resilience against population growth/demand spikes
- Design of capital works to optimise network efficiency

Water Recycling (East & West)
Responsible for:
- Collection, conveyance, and treatment of wastewater
- Managing 76,000 km of sewerage infrastructure & 1,163 treatment centres
- Ensuring environmental compliance while driving sustainability & innovation
