Electrical Engineer
Norwich - Hybrid Working
£55,000–£65,000
We are partnering with an innovative engineering company based in Norwich developing advanced electrical and electronic systems for cutting-edge industrial products. Following continued growth and increased customer demand, the business is now looking to recruit an Electrical Engineer to support the design and development of new and existing products.
This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working across the full product development lifecycle, from concept through to manufacture. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop robust electrical designs, support product validation, and help deliver high-quality solutions for a range of complex engineering projects.
The role is based in Norwich and requires office working of 3 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems and control panels for new and existing products.
- Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
- Select electrical components and support system integration activities.
- Work closely with Mechanical, Electronics and Software Engineers throughout product development.
- Support testing, validation and fault-finding activities during development and production.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support manufacturing, installation and commissioning activities where required.

Experience Required
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience designing electrical systems within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or similar.
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring practices and control systems.
- Experience selecting electrical components including PLCs, sensors, motors, drives or power distribution equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to support projects from concept through to production.

Bonus Skills
- Experience with PLC programming or industrial automation systems.
- Knowledge of functional safety or relevant electrical standards.
- Experience working within industrial machinery, automation, energy or manufacturing sectors.
- Familiarity with EMC, CE/UKCA compliance and electrical testing.
