To meet our growing UK business needs and future development aspirations we are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Lighting & Energy Solutions team.
A Little More About Your Role…
You will support the delivery of low voltage electrical design and consultancy services, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team on a variety of engineering projects across the UK. You will assist experienced engineers in developing high-quality, compliant designs and will have the opportunity to build your technical knowledge and project experience across a diverse range of sectors.
You Can Expect To Work On a Wide Range Of Projects For Major Public And Private Sector Clients, Within a Respected And Ambitious Company Offering Excellent Career Development Opportunities. The Type Of Work We Undertake Is Extremely Varied But Includes:
- Small and large-scale Electric Vehicle (EV) infrastructure feasibility studies, design, and technical assurance activities – from local authority (LEVI) schemes through to major multi-vector refuelling hubs integrating megawatt charging systems and low-carbon fuels.
- Specification and design of renewable energy generation and energy storage systems supporting decarbonisation and net zero objectives.
- Design of urban realm and regeneration projects to create safe, attractive and functional public spaces.
- Highway electrical design and technical assurance services for local authority and National Highways clients.
No two days will be the same, but you could be expected to:
- Assist in the delivery of electrical design work, supporting the development of safe, compliant and buildable solutions.
- Prepare calculations, drawings, reports and technical documentation under the guidance of experienced engineers.
- Support feasibility studies, design development and technical assurance activities across a range of projects.
- Assist with design reviews and quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with relevant standards and client requirements.
- Participate in project meetings, workshops and site visits, recording actions and supporting project delivery.
- Coordinate with colleagues from other disciplines to contribute to integrated design solutions.
- Develop an understanding of project risks, safety considerations and CDM requirements.
- Support the preparation of bids, proposals and technical submissions where appropriate.
- Build your knowledge of industry standards, design tools and best practice through structured training and project experience.

What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate…
- A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- An interest in low voltage electrical systems and infrastructure projects.
- Some experience of electrical design, engineering consultancy, construction, maintenance or technical assurance activities (through employment, industrial placements or internships).
- A willingness to learn and develop technical skills across the transportation, energy and EV infrastructure sectors.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to manage your own workload and contribute positively to project delivery.
- An understanding of, or interest in developing knowledge of, relevant standards and regulations.
- Working towards professional registration with the Engineering Council (IEng or CEng) and membership of a relevant professional institution.
- City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (C&G 2382) desirable but not essential.
- Experience with relevant software (e.g. AutoCAD, Trimble Amtech ProDesign, ElectricalOM) beneficial but not essential.
