Vulcain Engineering, an international engineering consultancy, supports global industrial leaders in their transition to a more responsible and sustainable future. We support our customers in the design, construction, commissioning and operation of their complex infrastructure projects that will shape the world of tomorrow. With operations in 17 countries and employing over 6,000 staff worldwide, our business responds to the needs of our clients by delivering high-value engineering expertise tailored to our clients’ most complex challenges.

In the UK, we have a key focus in the Nuclear sector, contributing to ground breaking projects, such as Hinkley Point C (HPC).

Due to continued business growth and our advancing project portfolio, Vulcain Engineering UK are seeking to expand our technical team within the Electrical Engineering discipline. We are looking to hire Electrical Engineers across both experienced and senior levels, to join us on a permanent basis and to play an integral part in UK nuclear new build infrastructure.

The scope of these positions, whilst differing slightly in depending on area and seniority, will be to provide client-side representation for the management of all electrical documentation, reviewing models, and validating design changes. You’ll work closely with multi-disciplinary teams and a wide range of stakeholders to ensure design compliance and successful delivery across complex nuclear programmes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
