Are you an Electrical Building Services Engineer
Are you an Electrical Building Services Engineer looking to work on technically diverse projects that span sectors such as life sciences, defence, healthcare and renewable energy? At Tetra Tech, you will join a collaborative team delivering innovative building services solutions across complex developments. This is an opportunity to contribute to high-quality design work while developing your technical capability within a supportive engineering environment.
Purpose & Scope of the Role
As an Electrical Building Services Engineer, you will support the delivery of engineering consultancy services across a range of projects from early concept through to detailed design and construction stages. Working within multidisciplinary design teams, you will produce electrical designs, calculations, reports and drawings that meet both client requirements and regulatory standards. You will contribute to projects across multiple sectors and be involved in all stages of the design process, typically aligned with RIBA stages 1–4.
You will play an active role in delivering technically robust solutions, supporting site surveys and construction stage duties, and working collaboratively with clients, architects and other engineering disciplines to ensure coordinated project delivery.
Your Impact in this Position

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
