Our dynamic team—a mix of civil, mechanical, electrical, and process engineers—collaborates to deliver impactful projects from concept to completion. We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Water Team with opportunities to work across a hybrid model across our North and Midlands offices (Birmingham, Chesterfield, Leeds, Manchester).
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Design & Project Delivery
- Develop and manage all aspects of electrical design for Water and Wastewater Treatment and Infrastructure projects, including:
- Load Schedules
- Single Line Diagrams
- MCC (Motor Control Centre) General Arrangements
- Instrument Schedules
- Electrical Installation and Cable Calculations
- PLC/SCADA systems, Control Philosophy, URS (Use Requirements Specifications), Specifications, and Technical Reports
- Input to P&ID’s (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), Site Surveys, and Data Gathering exercises
- Multiply titles and clients we show collaboration with.
- Develop and manage all aspects of electrical design for Water and Wastewater Treatment and Infrastructure projects, including:

Project Stages & Compliance
- Engage in all design phases, from Feasibility to Detail/Construction Design, ensuring national and international design standards are met.
- Manage quality designs against established budgets and timelines.

Collaboration & Bid Support
- Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams nationwide to develop high-quality technical solutions.
- Communicate effectively with clients (including Severn Trent Water, Wessex Water, South West Water, Southern Water, Thames Water, and Irish Water) to understand and meet needs.

Innovation & Legacy Creation
- Bring bold ideas to push boundaries in water infrastructure for long-term community impact.
Key Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Proven expertise in the electrical design of water and wastewater engineering deliverables, with strong multi-disciplinary knowledge.
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to handle technical challenges with accountability.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills to collaborate effectively.
- Teamwork: Ability to drive projects independently or as part of a global team while aligning with professional standards.
- Career Development: Open to progressing toward Chartership with relevant institutions.
