The Opportunity

The water industry is investing heavily in the infrastructure needed to meet future environmental challenges, improve resilience and provide reliable services for communities across the UK. At Stantec, we're playing a leading role in delivering these programmes through innovative engineering, digital solutions and multidisciplinary collaboration.

We're looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our growing Water team based in High Wycombe or Brighton. This is an excellent opportunity to build your experience on nationally significant water and wastewater projects, working alongside experienced engineers who will support your technical development. You'll gain exposure to every stage of the project lifecycle while developing the skills needed to become a future technical specialist or engineering leader.

About The Role

As an Electrical Engineer, you'll support the delivery of electrical and EICA designs across a wide variety of water infrastructure projects, working closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to develop high-quality engineering solutions.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Assisting with electrical and EICA design from feasibility through to detailed design and construction support.
  • Producing design calculations, drawings, schedules and technical specifications.
  • Supporting the development of Single Line Diagrams, Block Cable Diagrams and Network Infrastructure Diagrams.
  • Working alongside project managers, clients and contractors to deliver coordinated engineering solutions.
  • Participating in design reviews, site visits and technical workshops.
  • Continuously developing your technical knowledge through structured learning and mentoring.

YOUR IMPACT

Every project you contribute to will help improve the reliability, efficiency and sustainability of essential water infrastructure. Your work will support investment programmes that protect the environment, improve operational performance and deliver resilient services for millions of customers across the UK.

You'll also be part of a collaborative engineering team where learning is encouraged, innovation is embraced and your ideas can make a genuine difference. As your experience grows, you'll have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and shape your own career path within Stantec.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
