Electrical Engineering Manager

About the Role

As we scale our projects, we’re looking for an Electrical Engineering Manager within our R&D department at our Weymouth office. If you thrive in a dynamic, interactive environment dedicated to digital transformation, we want you on board.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead and develop a team delivering electrical, electronic, and electromechanical solutions for advanced manufacturing and factory automation.
  • Combine technical expertise with leadership excellence to guide projects, support product innovation, and ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Mentor and empower your team, fostering both professional growth and performance.
  • Drive ethical, inclusive decision-making, aligning personal, team, and organisational success.
  • Champion a sense of purpose in the workplace, adapting to challenges while maintaining productivity.

Your Core Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Development

    • Mentor and grow a team of engineers, driving career progression and high performance.
    • Define clear expectations and adapt to changing project needs.
  • Technical Ownership & Innovation

    • Oversee complex electrical/electronic/mechatronic systems design.
    • Deliver innovative products/solutions while ensuring compliance with standards and best practices.
    • assure machinery adheres to safety regulations.

  • Project & Risks Management

    • Plan workflows, resources, and schedules for high-impact projects.
    • Manage budgets, risks, and technical complexities effectively.

What You’ll Contribute

  • Proven experience in engineering team leadership (preferably in product development, manufacturing, or tech).
  • Deep technical expertise in electrical/electronic/electromechanical/mechatronic systems.
  • Project delivery mastery, balancing technical integrity, commercial goals and timelines.
  • Great communication and stakeholder engagement to align teams effectively.
  • A collaborative mindset that thrives in multidisciplinary environments.
  • Passion for innovation, inclusivity, and team success.

About You

  • Background: Qualifications in Electrical Engineering (or related fields) + equivalent experience.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage engineering teams and navigate complex projects.
  • Passion: A love for problem-solving, education, and fostering high-performing teams.
  • Values: Drive technical excellence, integrate business priorities, and champion culture growth.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering/Related Discipline.
  • Hands-on experience leading engineering teams within product development or manufacturing.
  • Strong grasp of electrical/electronic/electromechanical/mechatronic design.
  • Experience in technical project delivery, including resource planning and risk assessment.
  • Familiarity with electric design tools (e.g., EPlan, Altium) and PLM systems.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Motion control systems and motor tuning expertise.
  • PCB layout and design experience.
  • SAP system knowledge.
  • Prior success with special-purpose machinery design.
