Location: Edinburgh or Glasgow
Emtec Building Services is strengthening its pre-construction team as new projects mobilise and our secured pipeline of work continues to grow across the region. As part of this continued expansion, we’re looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team.
This is a key role where you’ll take ownership of electrical estimating from early design and pre-construction through to tender submission. Working closely with pre-construction, commercial and delivery teams, you’ll produce accurate, competitive cost estimates, engage with the supply chain, and support the successful conversion of opportunities into live projects, playing an important part in shaping our expanding presence in the area.
Emtec Building Services is a leading M&E contractor delivering end-to-end mechanical and electrical solutions across commercial, industrial, and public sector projects, from early design and pre-construction through to installation, commissioning, and ongoing support.
The Role
As Electrical Estimator, you’ll play a crucial role within our pre-construction team supporting business development and tender activity by preparing accurate, competitive, and well-considered electrical estimates that underpin successful project delivery and sustainable growth.
This role can be based at our Edinburgh or Uddingston office.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
