Astute’s Power Team is partnering with a well-established large-scale EV installer with a commitment to professional development and sustainability, to recruit an Electrical Field Service Engineer to cover the Greater London area.
The Electrical Field Service Engineer role comes with a salary up to £48,000 basic (negotiable dependent on experience) + company vehicle & fuel card, a discretionary annual bonus, 30 days holiday including shutdown days, and private healthcare.

Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical Field Service Engineer role
Working With The Service & Operations Team You Will
- Commission and configure AC and Rapid DC chargers at client sites.
- Conduct initial set up and testing to ensure correct operation and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with the project management and installation teams to ensure seamless integration of charging stations with client infrastructure.
- Maintain company assets, tools, and test equipment in good working order and report any defects immediately.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on EV charging stations to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including electrical, mechanical and software-related problems.
- Conduct diagnostic tests, firmware updates and calibration of EV chargers as necessary.
- Replace faulty components and occasionally entire AC chargers. Ensure that all repairs are completed in accordance with manufacture guidelines.
- Provide on-site technical support and training to clients on the use and operation of EV chargers.

Professional Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- JIB Gold Card approved electrician (including AM2 pass)
- 18th edition certified
- City & Guilds 2391 Testing & Inspection qualified
- Valid UK Driving Licence (no more than 6 points)
Personal Skills
The Electrical Field Service Engineer role would suit someone who is:
- Experienced working under SLA-driven environments
- Able to manage time effectively while travelling between sites
- Able to work independently on client sites and resolve technical issues without direct supervision
