At Babcock, we create a secure and resilient world. As an Electrical Fitter at HMNB (Royal Navy Base) Clyde, you’ll work in defence, aerospace, and engineering—delivering real impact daily.
You’ll maintain essential electrical systems, ensuring operational readiness and site safety. This hands-on role offers continuous learning, skill development, and the chance to work on projects that contribute to national security.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
- Identify faults, defects, and required alterations to maintain system performance
- Collaborate across trades and maintenance teams to ensure smooth workflow
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations, policies, and procedures
- Suggest improvements to processes to boost efficiency
This is a 36-hour-per-week (on-site) position delivering real-world impact.

Essential Experience & Qualifications
Experience Required:
- Proven experience in electrical systems, equipment, and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of health and safety standards, documentation, and regulations
- Hands-on experience in electrical fault-finding, repairs, and installation
- Ability to work in controlled environments following safe systems of work
Qualifications:
- SVQ Level 3 (Scottish Vocational Qualification) in Electrical Installation or Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Advantageous: 2391 Test and Inspection qualification
Security Requirements
Essential: You must be a sole UK national and eligible for Security Check (SC) clearance.
