The Role
As an Electrical Fitter, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving electrical systems across a complex and high-profile defence estate. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same — from routine maintenance to solving complex faults, your work will directly support operational readiness and site safety.
You’ll be part of a collaborative, skilled team where your expertise is valued, and your development is supported. This role offers the opportunity to build on your technical skills while working in a dynamic environment that contributes to national security.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
- Identifying faults, defects, and required alterations to maintain performance and reliability
- Supporting other trades and collaborating with colleagues across maintenance teams
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with safety regulations, policies, and procedures
- Suggesting improvements to systems and processes to enhance performance and efficiency

This is a full-time role working 36 hours per week, based on-site at HMNB Clyde.
Essential Experience
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Demonstrated experience working with electrical systems, equipment, and maintenance processes
- A solid understanding and application of regulations, health and safety standards, and documentation
- Proven abilities in electrical fault-finding, repairs, and installation work
- Experience working in controlled environments and following safe systems of work
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Maintenance, or an equivalent qualification (essential)
- Experience in fire alarm systems, security systems, and CCTV, or equivalent (highly desirable)
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain a Security Check (SC) level security clearance for this role.
