Electrical Installation Engineer – Critical Power Systems (National)
About the Role
Astute’s Power Team is collaborating with a leading critical power provider, specialising in high-quality generator and UPS solutions for essential industries. We’re searching for an experienced Electrical Installation Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, and integration of mission-critical power systems nationwide.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Projects & Design, as a Field Electrical Installation Engineer, you’ll bring expertise to:

Technical Implementation
- Interpret and apply electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical blueprints to execute precise installations.
- Partner with project managers, clients, and design engineers to ensure compliant and seamless project delivery.

Hands-On Work
- Install, terminate, and commission generator/UPS systems, including:
- Cable routing and containment.
- Panel wiring and integration.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical/control system faults during installation and commissioning phases.

- Generate installation reports, commissioning records, and test results per industry standards.

- Compliance & Training
- Adhere to health & safety, quality, and report regulations.
- Provide operational training to customers and team colleagues.

Requirements
Technical & Experience Criteria
We require:
- Certification: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (preferably via apprenticeship).
- Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
- Operational Licence: Valid ECS Gold Card (or in progress).
- Industry Experience: Proven track record in commercial, industrial, or power-generation electrical installations.
- uks driving license: Full UK license.
- Bonus Considerations:
- Experience with generator control/protection systems or HV switching (training can be arranged).
- Knowledge of UPS systems or data centre infrastructure is favourable.

Salary & Benefits
- Annual Salary (Single): up to £48,000 (competitive market pricing).
