Electrical Installation Teacher – Level 1-3

About the Role

If you have strong industry experience and are seeking your next professional challenge, we would love to hear from you. Bring your Electrical Installation knowledge to our team and help develop the skilled workforce of the future.

Duties

  • Deliver teaching across Electrical Installation, including:
    • Theory and practical skills
    • Inspection and testing
    • Fault diagnosis and design
  • Plan, prepare, and assess learning, including:
    • Marking and giving feedback
    • Tutoring and pastoral support
  • Act as Course Leader for designated programmes, overseeing:
    • Delivery, assessment schedules
    • Quality processes and student progress
  • Support learner progression towards full occupational competence and successful End Point Assessment
  • Maintain accurate records, including:
    • Attendance, performance, destinations, and awarding-body requirements
  • Organise work placements and liaise with:
    • Employers, parents/carers, and external bodies
  • Contribute to:
    • Curriculum development
    • Quality assurance
    • Self-assessment and continuous improvement
  • Participate in college events such as:
    • Open evenings, careers events, and school liaison
  • Maintain professional competence through:
    • CPD (Continual Professional Development)
    • Appraisal and participation in teaching observations

Requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Strong teaching and delivery skills across Electrical Installation at Levels 1-3
  • Experience delivering:
    • Practical and theory sessions
    • Inspection & testing and fault-finding
  • Ability to design:
    • Schemes of work
    • Assessment plans
    • Course documentation
  • Experience supporting learners via:
    • Tutorials, pastoral care and progress reviews
  • Familiarity with:
    • Awarding-body requirements
    • Assessment standards
    • Quality processes
  • Competence in managing:
    • Course administration (enrolment, registers, data returns and reporting)
  • Ability to collaborate with:
    • Teaching teams and cross-college services
  • Experience engaging with:
    • Employers and work placements

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Minimum GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Minimum Level 3 NVQ qualification in the relevant area of expertise (Electrical Installation)

Desirable:

  • Electrical ECS Gold Card/AM2 Certificate
  • Level 5 Teaching qualification (or commitment to achieving within the required timescale)
  • Assessor and Moderator/IQA Award
  • Availability of the latest amendment of the 18th Edition
  • Relevant degree and/or professional qualifications
