About the Role
At Babcock, we build, install, and deliver systems that support national capability. As an Electrical Installation Technician based in Ashchurch, near Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, you’ll play a critical part in delivering engineering and technology solutions across defence and aerospace programmes.
What You’ll Do
As an Electrical Installation Technician, working within our Mission Systems business, you’ll:
- Install, configure, and commission a range of electrical, mechanical, and system-based equipment for vital national infrastructure projects
- Work across various environments in the UK and overseas, enhancing your technical skills while contributing to significant, real-world outcomes
- Enjoy a dynamic and varied role where problem-solving, teamwork, and career growth are core to your development
Key Responsibilities
- Installing, testing, and commissioning electrical, mechanical, and integrated systems to meet project requirements
- Supporting system integration activities across diverse engineering environments
- Adhering to health and safety procedures to ensure safe delivery of all installation tasks
- Collaborating with project teams and stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during installation and commissioning phases

Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated compliance with health and safety policies, reflecting your responsibilities
- Strong Microsoft Word, SharePoint, and Excel proficiency
- Ability to communicate effectively, build strong working relationships, and learn on and off the job
- Commitment to on-the-job training and professional development
Qualifications
- 18th Edition BS7671 qualification (currently working towards or hold this)
- City & Guilds 2392 Level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing, Initial Verification, and Periodic Inspection of Electrical Installations
- Full UK driving licence (essential for mobility across sites)
Security Clearance
- Must be able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) clearance for this role
- Sole UK National eligibility required
