Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer

Location: Cardiff
Salary: £47,500
Shift: Days

What You'll Do:

Yolk Recruitment is supporting a leading global manufacturing organisation in the search for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to join its Cardiff operation.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly skilled maintenance team within a well-established industrial environment where safety, reliability, and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything they do. You'll play a key role in maintaining critical plant equipment, supporting production performance, and helping deliver high standards of operational excellence.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to breakdowns and carrying out fault finding on electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing motors, drives, and associated control equipment.
  • Supporting the commissioning, calibration, and maintenance of process control and measurement systems.
  • Working on safety-critical equipment including pressure, temperature, and level instrumentation.
  • Maintaining hazardous area equipment in line with industry regulations and site procedures.
  • Completing planned preventative maintenance activities and updating maintenance records.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement projects aimed at improving plant reliability and efficiency.

What You'll Bring:

  • Time-served apprenticeship or recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, chemical, process, industrial, or heavy engineering environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation, calibration, and process control systems.
  • A proactive approach to maintenance and problem solving.
  • Excellent awareness of health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Experience using maintenance management systems and technical documentation.
