Job Summary

A time served maintenance engineer with experience of working in a medium to heavy engineering environment.

The position will involve carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance duties on a variety of machinery and equipment. Continual improvement and the use of RCA to improve the equipment OEE will be an essential pre-requisite for this position. Willingness to work overtime and differing shifts pattern is also required.

Key Objectives Of The Role

  • Ensure all PPM tasks are completed on time and to the required standards.
  • Use RCA to identify true cause of failures and report corrective action necessary.
  • Improve plant OEE by ensuring issues are dealt with in a swift and effective manner with an effective first time fix.
  • Ensure all departmental documentation is completed on time and to company standards.
  • Develop the PPM system for key items of plant in conjunction with the maintenance planner to improve plant OEE.
  • Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance on a variety of equipment.
  • Rapid response to customers’ demands with a quick diagnosis of the issue and an effective fix.
  • Develop and recommend solutions to improve equipment availability to Maintenance Manager.
  • Ensure all work undertaken is done via the company safety rules and procedures including the undertaking of risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work, and safe lock off procedures.
  • Be aware of incident reports and work with operational managers to promptly implement solutions to prevent re-occurrence.
  • To co-operate readily on the development & implementation of autonomous maintenance (TPM).
  • To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be requested.

Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in electrical engineering.
  • Able to read electrical engineering drawings.
  • Ability to logically fault find.
  • Worked with lock out, tag out procedures.
  • Working with a CMMS.
  • High level of understanding of PLC’s.
  • 17th Edition wiring.
  • Worked with CNC machines, Lathes, NDT processes or forge industry.
  • Basic electrical installation experience.
  • Good problem-solving and organisation skills.
  • Worked in a medium to heavy factory environment.
  • Experience of dealing with demanding customers.

Desirable

  • ONC/HNC/HND or equivalent in electrical engineering.
  • CNC Fault finding and repairs.
  • Forging industry experience.
  • 18th Edition wiring.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office to intermediate level or above.
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
