Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer – Eaglescliffe
£54,923 per annum (including shift allowance) & benefits 42 hours per week, working 12-hour shifts (4 on, 4 off) – 6:00am to 6:00pm (days & nights)

As an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the continuous operation of our production processes by minimising downtime through safe, methodical fault-finding and electrical maintenance. As part of our growing Engineering team, you’ll support our commitment to world-class landscapes, buildings, and roofing products.
Mission of the Role
As an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the continuous running of production equipment through proactive and reactive engineering maintenance under the guidance of a skilled team.
- Conducting fast, safe fault-finding to eliminate engineering downtime.
- Adhering to OHSAS 18001 legislation and emergency procedures to safeguard staff and the company.
- Assisting with Vendor Admin (VA) issues and collaborating with Joinery Engineering teams.
Core Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Engineering Tasks:
- Undertake reactive and planned engineering maintenance to keep operations running smoothly.
- Perform comprehensive checks on mechanical and electrical systems (including hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, bearings, motors, etc.).
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency in electrical fault diagnostics, 18th edition wiring regulations, PLC systems, and basic electronics.
- Experience with control systems, sensors, transmitters, and safety devices.
- Preventative Measures:
- Comply with Team Leader instructions for preventative maintenance packages (PMP).
- Adhere to the company’s TOTAL (Total Operational Quality Loss) policies.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Compliance with OHSAS 18001, industry regulations, and eligible Training reference manuals.
- Get up-to-date with all vendor training and certification guidelines.

Essential Criteria (Mission-Critical Skills & Knowledge)
- A strong background in electrical engineering with some mechanical experience.
- Ideally, a qualified professional with a time-served background in a similar role (preferably NVQ Level 3).
- Apprentice-trained and qualified to 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- PLC fault-finding skills – a major advantage.
- Knowledge of automated processes, robots, and machine diagnostics.
- Proficiency in machine maintenance, including mechanical fitting, welding, fabrication, and machining.
- Reactively and proactively troubleshoot electrical systems controlling:
- Conveyors (belts, chain, rollers, bearings)
- Gearboxes
- Motors
- Ability to effectively use technical drawings, even in low-visibility or resource-limited environments.
