About You & the Role
The purpose of this role is to ensure that Neg Earth’s equipment is maintained and serviced to the highest and safest standards. You will be part of a professional technical operations team that ensures the equipment is ready for clients in agreed timescales, working alongside other highly skilled technicians with some of the industry’s leading technology and brands.
If you have great attention to detail and are resourceful in finding solutions then these technical roles will provide you with the opportunity, training, and guidance to grow your knowledge to a high level of expertise. The smooth running of our operations is dependent upon a collaborative approach and teamwork. You must be able to demonstrate that you can follow set guidelines and work with a diverse group of people.
Your Duties
You’ll play an essential part in your team and company success story by efficiently and effectively carrying out duties including:
- The repair of cable, soldered, crimped and screw fixings.
- Service and maintenance of Dimmers, Distros, Controls, Transformers and Specialist Lighting equipment.
- Test and repair, fault finding, manufacture of lightweight and heavy weight cable assemblies and mains distribution.
- Ensure all equipment is sent out and returned in line with the Company Stock Management process.
- Preparing and maintaining intercom systems is desirable, but training can be provided.
- Stock barcoding in alignment with internal processes and procedures.
- Maintain stock levels through liaising with Management.
- Reliably maintaining spare parts and stock levels for all equipment, researching supplies with manufacturers and advising Management/Procurement.
- Prepare and maintain various types of motion control systems.
- As directed by management, to assist others with power distribution, motor control, cabling, bespoke equipment and special projects.
- Prepare and maintain lighting equipment as required.

Standard Companywide Responsibilities
- Any other duties as required / authorised by your Line Manager / Line Management reporting line.
- Comply with all Health and Safety requirements.
- Comply with all Policies and Procedures.
- Ensuring that work areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.
Your Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Level 2 Electrical/Electronic qualification or BTEC Electrical qualification.
- Practical experience working in an electrical/electronic role.
- Proven experience soldering and wiring.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools and test equipment.
- Knowledge of 3 phase power and distribution.
- Electrical safety knowledge and awareness.
- Knowledge and understanding of Motor Control Systems.
- Ability to work autonomously whilst being a real team player.
- Willingness to take ownership and accountability.
- Ability to plan ahead, organise, prioritise workload.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, demonstrating resilience, flexibility and ability to maintain positive relationships.
- Can-do positive attitude.
- Great communication skills.
- The show must go on so providing a 7-day operation/service is key. Therefore, the ability to work paid overtime on occasions, including weekends as required.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic MS Office applications skills– Outlook, Excel, Word.
Desirable
- Experience working for a family run business.
- Experience working in the entertainment industry, or a similar industry with warehouse environment.
