Electrical Project Engineer
Extensive & Proactive Electrical Project Engineer
Clarke is seeking an experienced and proactive Electrical Project Engineer to join our Electrical team, providing technical leadership and project support across a range of telecoms infrastructure projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced telecoms professional with a strong electrical background, looking to take the next step in their career while playing a key role in delivering major telecoms infrastructure projects across the UK.
The Role
As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical part in supporting the successful delivery of telecoms infrastructure projects. You’ll collaborate closely with internal departments to provide specialist electrical expertise across the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Electrical designs, compliance assurance, and project coordination
- Expertise in technical support and management of electrical works
- Ensuring all activities meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, and Clarke’s quality benchmarks
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist electrical support across Clarke and external project stakeholders.
- Liaise with Design Engineers post-site surveys to agree electrical proposals, cable routes, containment requirements, and power solutions.
- Coordinate electrical installation programmes and support scheduling of electrical works.
- Ensure 100% compliance with:
- Current electrical wiring regulations
- Industry standards
- Customer specifications
- Review and approve electrical design drawings and associated documentation.
- Procure electrical materials and subcontractor services where necessary.
- Attend pre-start meetings and conduct site visits to deliver technical guidance for complex projects.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement solutions for timely, on-target project delivery.
- Ensure electrical handover documentation and certification completion within stipulated timescales.
- Lead quality issue resolution, audit findings, and post-build defects.
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Lead electrical team performance through coaching, appraisals, and career development initiatives.
- Contribute to project reporting, performance reviews, and client meetings as required.

What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Proven telecommunications industry experience with a strong electrical focus
- Expertise in:
- Electrical design, installation, testing, and compliance frameworks
- Project coordination with diverse stakeholders
- Strong communicational, organisational, and problem-solving capabilities
- Proficiency with IT technologies, including Microsoft Excel
- Health and safety legislation expertise plus adherence to industry standards
- Full UK driving licence
