Department Overview
MJ Quinn Energy and Critical Infrastructure division is a multi-disciplined integrated service provider headquartered in Liverpool. Specialising in the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems, our expertise includes energy-efficient solutions like LED lighting, adiabatic and CRAC cooling units, air source heating, solar PV systems, and battery storage.
Role
The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of electrical project works across Energy projects, ensuring safe, compliant, and commercially successful execution.
The role will manage programme, cost, quality, and resources, whilst acting as a key interface between clients, internal teams, and supply chain partners.
The position reports to the Head of Electrical Services
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of electrical works across allocated projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with contractual requirements.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain detailed project programmes and delivery plans.
- Identify risks to programme and implement mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate all construction activities to ensure alignment with the overall project plan.
- Maintain ownership of commercial performance of projects, including cost control and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with contract conditions (JCT / NEC 4 where applicable).
- Produce regular commercial reports and updates for senior management.
- Oversee and validate electrical design, installation, and commissioning activities
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards (BS7671, relevant electrical regulations)
- Support design development, including review of drawings and technical submissions, value engineering opportunities
- Ensure all systems are properly tested, commissioned, and documented.
- Lead and manage, Site Supervisors, Direct labour, Subcontractors and suppliers
- Ensure effective resource planning and allocation.
- Monitor supply chain performance in relation to Programme, Quality, Safety compliance

Candidate Requirements
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering / Building Services Engineering desirable
- Relevant Electrical Qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3 Or Equivalent)
- Experience in multi-project environments or large-scale programmes.
- SMSTS or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- SMSTS certification desirable
- First Aid essential
- IOSH/NEBOSH desirable.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Project and site management tools.
