Electrical QC Inspector

This position focuses on independent quality control and inspection across electrical disciplines, supporting fabrication, manufacture, installation, and construction activities in regulated industrial environments. The role offers exposure to vendor facilities and operating sites, with a strong emphasis on inspection standards, quality documentation, and client-facing delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide independent quality control and inspection services across electrical disciplines at operating sites and vendor facilities.
  • Inspect manufactured and installed equipment in line with applicable industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review quality plans, Inspection and Test Plans, fabrication and manufacturing procedures, NDE procedures, welding procedures, and final quality documentation packages within delegated authority levels.
  • Support equipment manufacture, fabrication, installation, and construction activities through accurate inspection, reporting, and quality oversight.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in a client-facing environment.
  • Carry out installation inspections, punch listing, reporting, and non-conformance management activities.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the inspection of fabrications and manufactured equipment.
  • Experience gained within high-hazard, industrial, engineering, manufacturing, energy, oil & gas, petrochemical, or related environments.
  • Experience working with minimal supervision across sites with differing working cultures.
  • Proven ability to manage a range of stakeholders and contribute to technical discussions relating to inspection activities.

Technical Skills & Tools:

  • Sound understanding of inspection techniques relevant to electrical equipment.
  • Good working knowledge of UK inspection requirements and applicable industry standards, or transferable experience from another regulated industrial sector.
  • Knowledge of inspection processes for electrical equipment, including installation inspections, punch listing, reporting, and non-conformance management.
  • Good working knowledge of customer quality requirements.
  • Good working knowledge and application of ISO 9001.
  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes.
  • Strong technical report writing and verbal communication skills.

Certifications:

  • ONC/HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (Preferred)
  • Completed electrical apprenticeship (Required)
  • City & Guilds Electrical Inspection 2360/2391/2392/2377 (Required)
  • 16th, 17th, or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (Required)
  • CompEx/ATEX 1-4 accreditation (Preferred)
  • CSCS Card or equivalent Safety Passport (Required)

Nice to Have:

  • Ability to demonstrate a proactive and self-motivated approach to technical and non-technical work.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to problem solve effectively in varied site environments.
  • Ability to work at height and within confined spaces.
