Electrical Qualifying Supervisor

Salary: £50,000 + Company Van

An established and growing Mechanical & Electrical contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Qualifying Supervisor to oversee electrical testing, quality assurance, and defect management across multiple commercial projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Electrical Qualifying Supervisor with strong testing, compliance, and project coordination experience to join a forward-thinking business delivering high-quality M&E installations across a range of sectors.

The Role

Reporting to the M&E Management Team, you will be responsible for managing electrical testing, ensuring compliance with current NICEIC and BS7671 regulations, and overseeing the close-out of electrical and mechanical defects throughout project completion and the 12-month defects liability period.

As the Electrical Qualifying Supervisor, you will act as the key point of contact for electrical testing and compliance, working closely with project teams, contractors, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure projects are completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical installation testing and certification across multiple projects.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all electrical testing and compliance matters.
  • Oversee the close-out of electrical and mechanical defects during project completion and defects liability periods.
  • Maintain project trackers for electrical test certificates, calibration of testing equipment, and PAT testing of site plant.
  • Carry out periodic site inspections to monitor installation quality, testing, commissioning, and programme progress.
  • Work alongside Project Managers to ensure installations comply with NICEIC requirements and company QA procedures.
  • Review and verify inspection and testing results from electricians before certification.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers responsible for defect resolution.
  • Produce regular progress reports for senior management, highlighting project status and key issues.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and approved RAMS.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Support continuous improvement of company procedures and compliance processes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
