Electrical Qualifying Supervisor
Salary: £50,000 + Company Van
An established and growing Mechanical & Electrical contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Qualifying Supervisor to oversee electrical testing, quality assurance, and defect management across multiple commercial projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Electrical Qualifying Supervisor with strong testing, compliance, and project coordination experience to join a forward-thinking business delivering high-quality M&E installations across a range of sectors.
The Role
Reporting to the M&E Management Team, you will be responsible for managing electrical testing, ensuring compliance with current NICEIC and BS7671 regulations, and overseeing the close-out of electrical and mechanical defects throughout project completion and the 12-month defects liability period.
As the Electrical Qualifying Supervisor, you will act as the key point of contact for electrical testing and compliance, working closely with project teams, contractors, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure projects are completed to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage electrical installation testing and certification across multiple projects.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all electrical testing and compliance matters.
- Oversee the close-out of electrical and mechanical defects during project completion and defects liability periods.
- Maintain project trackers for electrical test certificates, calibration of testing equipment, and PAT testing of site plant.
- Carry out periodic site inspections to monitor installation quality, testing, commissioning, and programme progress.
- Work alongside Project Managers to ensure installations comply with NICEIC requirements and company QA procedures.
- Review and verify inspection and testing results from electricians before certification.
- Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers responsible for defect resolution.
- Produce regular progress reports for senior management, highlighting project status and key issues.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and approved RAMS.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Support continuous improvement of company procedures and compliance processes.

About You
You'll be a motivated and organised Electrical Qualifying Supervisor who enjoys taking ownership of projects and maintaining the highest standards of compliance and workmanship.
You will have:
- Minimum 3 years' experience within an electrical compliance, testing, or supervisory role.
- Experience managing electrical testing programmes and defect resolution.
- Current registration (or eligibility) as a NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor.
- Strong knowledge of BS7671 and current electrical regulations.
- Experience liaising with NICEIC, compliance teams, project managers, and clients.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple live projects.

- City & Guilds 2391 / 2394 & 2395 Inspection & Testing
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds 2360 (or equivalent)
- ECS/CSCS Gold Card
