Electrical Qualifying Supervisor – Compliance & Regulatory Assurance
WGM Engineering, part of RSK Group, is looking for an Electrical Qualifying Supervisor – Compliance & Regulatory Assurance to join our HSEQ / Compliance function, supporting delivery on a permanent, full-time basis. This role will be based in Glasgow, with travel to WGM sites and client locations as required. This is a business-critical opportunity to support safe, compliant electrical delivery across essential water-sector infrastructure.
WGM Engineering is a growing engineering business delivering critical infrastructure projects across the water, utilities and infrastructure sectors. As part of RSK Group, we combine the scale and support of a wider group with the practical, hands-on approach of a specialist engineering delivery business. Our teams work with major clients across regulated environments, supporting safe, sustainable and high-quality project delivery.
With secured long-term frameworks across the UK water sector, including work with major clients such as Scottish Water, United Utilities and Southern Water through sole supplier and joint venture arrangements, this is a strong time to join WGM. We have the close working relationships, practical mindset and visibility of a smaller business, with the scale, stability and long-term project pipeline of a growing UK engineering company. We invest in our people through training, technical development, professional qualifications and internal progression, and we promote from within wherever we can.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out the duties of Electrical Qualifying Supervisor to support and maintain WGM’s NICEIC accreditation.
- Provide day-to-day electrical regulatory supervision across designated work fronts, projects and delivery teams.
- Support compliance with current electrical regulations, BS 7671 requirements, WIMES specifications, Electrical Safety Rules and relevant client standards.
- Complete site visits, electrical compliance audits, installation quality checks and initial verification reviews.
- Support the preparation, completion and evidence gathering required for NICEIC annual audits and other relevant compliance assessments.
- Ensure electrical inspection, testing, certification and calibration records are completed accurately, controlled correctly and available for audit or client review.
- Mentor electricians and site teams on inspection, testing, verification and regulatory processes, including supporting “test the tester” activity and competency checks.
- Identify compliance risks, trends or issues and escalate them clearly to the Compliance Manager, Electrical Director or relevant senior stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
