Role Description

The Electrical Quality Assurance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Manchester. The person in this position oversees electrical quality assurance across projects, ensuring all installations and systems comply with company procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and maintaining QA processes, reviewing the check sheets filled out by our specialist sub-contractors and highlighting defects to the relevant party and Stothers management. The role collaborates closely with project managers, site supervisors, and engineering teams. The Electrical Quality Assurance Manager also prepares reports for senior leadership, supports training on quality standards, and contributes to risk assessments and safety initiatives.

The ideal candidate with be a time served electrician with experience in managing inspection check sheets, Inspection test plans, and liaising with site operatives to deliver quality records of the installation.

The day to day will consist of being a site based manager, reviewing and verifying quality check sheets. Setting up check sheets on the portal and liaising with operatives and managers to rectify any incompliances that are found.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in electrical engineering or building services, with experience in installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in quality assurance or quality control within construction, M&E, or related engineering environments.
  • Solid understanding of relevant electrical regulations, standards, and codes of practice (e.g., BS 7671 standards, IET Wiring Regulations).
  • Experience conducting inspections, audits, testing, and documentation review for electrical works.
  • Proficiency in creating and implementing QA procedures, checklists, and compliance documentation.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with multidisciplinary project teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including root cause analysis and development of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices in all aspects of electrical project delivery.
