Electrical Remedial Engineer - £60k OTE + £3k sign-on bonus

Electrician (Remedial Specialist) – PTSG Electrical Services

We'll give you £3,000 just to show up. The rest is up to you.

  • Location: Leicester (regional coverage – you’ll become a familiar face on these roads)
  • Salary: £60,000 OTE (£40k base + overtime + unsocial hours premiums)

About the Role & PTSG

At PTSG, we’re a national safety specialist leader, particularly within our Electrical Safety division, encompassing PTSG ES, Guardian Electrical, and Electrical Compliance and Safety—specialising in fixed-wire testing (EICR’s) and related compliance for clients like schools, hospitals, offices, and retail units.

Your days will be dynamic, with no two jobs identical. Currently, demand for Remedial Engineers is booming due to our expansion, ensuring a future-proof career with financial stability and leadership opportunities.


Responsibilities

  • Perform remedial work – Repairing negatives, upgrading installations, and ensuring compliance in commercial and industrial locations.
  • Stay compliant – Practising by BS 7671, IET regulations, City & Guilds 2391-52, and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations—because safety is non-negotiable.
  • Communicate clearly – Explaining technical issues to clients in plain English, building trust.
  • Safety excellence – Prioritising site safety, keeping the focus on the wiring and off workplace risks.
  • Skills development – Formal training remains key but enhance expertise through real-world challenges rather than paperwork alone.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum three years in commercial/industrial electrical work.
  • Qualifications: City & Guilds 2391-52 (or equivalent), NVQ Level 3, and the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Driving: Full UK licence (as travel is inherent to the role).
  • Personality traits: Highly detail-oriented, a self-starter, and professional—proactively solving problems even when no one’s watching.
