About the Role
At PTSG, we're a safety specialist leading the specialist electrical safety division (PTSG ES, Guardian Electrical, Electrical Compliance and Safety). We provide essential services like fixed wire inspection (EICR) across schools, hospitals, offices, retail spaces, and more—no two days are the same.
This is your chance to grow as a Remedial Specialist in a high-demand, forward-thinking business. With financial security, development opportunities, and a progressive career path, join us as we scale and tender more projects.
What You’ll Do
Redo the questionable wiring, fix or upgrade what needs addressing, and improve compliance—all while keeping clients informed like a professional, not a robot. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting remedial repairs, upgrades, and compliance work across commercial and industrial sites
- Ensuring work aligns with BS 7671, IET regulations, City & Guilds 2391-52, and the 18th Edition—because safety isn’t something to guess
- Explaining technical work clearly to clients, avoiding jargon, and keeping human relationships intact
- Prioritising safety—so the drama stays in the wiring, not the workplace
- Continuously developing your skills in a supportive and evolving role

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
