Mitsubishi Chemicals UK are to build a new production plant adjacent to their existing plant on Saltend Chemicals Park in Hull, named the PUMA project.
A highly skilled professional responsible for managing safety on high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) systems. They prepare, approve, and execute switching schedules, isolate electrical apparatus, and review and approve permits to work.

This position offers the opportunity to make a major contribution to the successful delivery of a large-scale construction project, ensuring the efficiency and safety of all Electrical Switching activities taking place on site.
As an Electrical Senior Appointed Person your activities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- HV/LV Switching and Isolation: Act as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to direct and supervise or perform HV switching and applying Circuit Main Earths.
- Hazardous Area Management: Oversee the compliance of IEEPEA (Electrical Equipment in Potentially Explosive Atmospheres) in ATEX hazardous areas, ensuring all new installations pass detailed grade initial inspections before energisation.
- Protection and Control: Manage the commissioning, adjustment, and maintenance of electrical protection relays and protective devices to ensure system integrity.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all project activities adhere to the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, DSEAR, BS7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), and BS6626 for HV switchgear maintenance.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including coordinating with third-party designers, installers and Client Senior Appointed Persons.

Technical Competencies (HV/LV)
- HV Authorisation: Proven competence as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) for 33kV operation and protection, including the ability to follow schematic diagrams and understand/application of protection principles.
- Safety Training: Must be trained in first aid treatment for electric shock and burns, including resuscitation.
- Testing Proficiency: Competent in the use of HV potential indicators and proving units to ensure systems are dead before work commences.
- Electrical HV/LV Switchgear experience
- HNC minimum
