Electrical Service Technician - EV Charging
If you’re a hands-on Electrical Technician who enjoys solving problems in the field, this is an opportunity to join a fast-growing EV infrastructure business delivering critical charging solutions across the UK. Working across AC, Rapid DC, Ultra & High-Power Charging Systems (HPC), you will play a key role supporting the commissioning, maintenance and repair of EV charging equipment, with clear opportunities to develop your skills in a rapidly growing sector.
The Role
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and system faults on EV charging equipment.
- Commission, configure and carry out firmware updates where required.
- Perform planned maintenance and reactive repairs to maximise uptime.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure work is completed accurately and on time.
- Provide on-site technical support and clear updates to customers.
- Ensure accurate reporting and full compliance in-line with safety standards.
Salary, Overtime & Benefits
- £34,000 - £36,000 pa, dependent on experience
- Paid Overtime (1.5x/2x rates) – strong earning potential
- On-Call Allowance (1 in 3 weeks)
- Covering Scotland, Central Belt (home-based with daily travel and occasional overnight stays)

Skills & Experience
- You’ll ideally have:
- Level 3 Electro-technical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds or equivalent).
- At least 2 years’ experience working to SLAs in a commercial field-based electrical installation/maintenance environment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability with confidence working independently in the field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate and work closely with both internal stakeholders and customers.
- Familiarity with test and measurement equipment (multimeters & voltage testers)
- A valid UK driving licence, happy with regular travel and occasional overnight stays.
- Experience working within EV Charging/Renewable Energy/Power Electronics would be advantageous but not essential, our client is open to speaking with candidates from a range of industries.
- BS7671 - IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) and City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection & Testing would also be desirable.
- Candidates must have a permanent Right to Work in the UK. Please note, our client cannot offer visa sponsorship for this position.
