About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Electrical Senior Shift Technician to join a highly skilled engineering team in a prestigious corporate and critical environment located at the heart of Kings Cross.

This 10-floor commercial property seeks a self-driven, hands-on professional to ensure seamless operation of critical electrical infrastructure while benefiting from:

As part of a 2-engineer shift team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and reliability of all electrical and associated building services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting

    • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical systems.
    • Conduct fault finding and diagnostics on all electrical equipment.
    • Monitor and operate critical plant and infrastructure, minimising downtime.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance

    • Ensure all work adheres to health and safety procedures.
    • Manage emergency response protocols, including alarms and fault escalations.
    • Coordinate with subcontractors to deliver specialist tasks.
  • Operational Support

    • Maintain accurate CAFM (Computer-Aided Facility Management) records and reports.
    • Help develop and refine operational procedures.
    • Provide technical shift support and mentorship.
  • Technical Expertise

    • Work with UPS, generators, LV systems, AHUs, FCUs and BMS interfaces.

Requirements

To apply, you must possess:

✅ Recognised electrical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, EAL, or equivalent). ✅ 18th Edition Wiring Regulations compliance. ✅ Proven experience in highly regulated environments (e.g., data centres, banking, healthcare, or corporate buildings). ✅ Strong electrical fault diagnosis and maintenance background. ✅ Familiarity with building services systems (e.g., critical infrastructure, UPS, generators). ✅ Pedagogical problem-solving and communication skills.
