Electrical Shift Tech - St Fergus

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Electrical Shift Technician at St Fergus.

This role will involve working shift pattern as outlined below.

Working Pattern - Annual Hours 1803

  • 3 (three) day shifts of 12 hours each
  • 4 (four) night shifts of 12 hours each
  • 3 (three) days leave
  • 4 (four) day shifts of 12 hours each
  • 3 (three) night shifts of 12 hours each
  • 18 (eighteen) leave

Thereafter recommence Work Cycle

Purpose of Position

  • Carry out planned maintenance tasks on site electrical equipment such as motors, transformers, UPS systems, HV & LV distributions systems, lighting, and electrical actuators
  • Carry out hazardous area inspections on all site electrical equipment
  • Respond to and diagnose faults and trips on site electrical equipment
  • Carry out repair works to faulty electrical equipment
  • Provide safe isolation and conduct toolbox talks for other disciplines
  • Report daily on the site MMS and raise fault work orders for any repairs required
  • Assist with the creation of permits, risk assessments, and isolations
  • Review procedures and drawings and ensure any corrections marked up and reported correctly

Primary Accountabilities

As a Altrad employee you will display the appropriate work standards and values required to execute the task in a safe controlled manner.

  • Installation, Isolation, reinstatement, and associated maintenance of electrical equipment in NON-HAZARDOUS and HAZARDOUS areas.
  • Inspection and completion of applicable certification / documentation as required including red lining of drawings to reflect ‘as-built’ status.
  • Read, understand, and implement all applicable company / project policies, working practices and procedures, always ensuring that all works associated with the role of Electrical Technician is completed safely and to a high standard.
  • Complete all work scope in accordance with applicable work pack / job card instructions, associated procedures, and drawings / sketches.
  • Work in a way that complements PX’s core values and minimum site standards.
  • Complete the weekly planned activities.
  • Responsible for assuring HSE compliance within work execution.
  • Manage and implement all relevant QA/QC Procedures as instructed.
  • Provide feedback to squad for progress, productivity, and HSE performance.

Qualifications

  • Technical qualification with applicable electrical background - City and Guilds / BTec/NC/ NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation / SJIB (Scotland) / JIB (England)
  • IET Wiring Regulations 18th edition
  • Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
  • COMPEX EX01-EX04
  • Emergency First Aid
