About the Role
We’re looking for a driven and hands-on Electrical Site Engineer to join our growing Energy team within the Metlen Renewables in the United Kingdom. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the forefront of the energy transition, delivering cutting-edge solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) projects across the UK.

Your role will encompass:
- Oversee electrical subcontractors during the installation of LV/MV systems, including cabling, panels, switchgear, transformers, and inverters
- Ensure installations meet design specifications, with a focus on cable routing, segregation, terminations, earthing, and bonding
- Interpret and review electrical drawings, single line diagrams (SLDs), and cable schedules
- Support inspection, testing, and commissioning activities, including insulation resistance and continuity testing
- Collaborate closely with civil and mechanical teams to ensure smooth and efficient project execution
- Monitor site progress, track subcontractor performance, and proactively address risks and delays
- Maintain accurate quality and testing documentation, ensuring full traceability
- Support pre-commissioning, energisation, and final project handover
- Uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance, ensuring safe systems of work are followed at all times

Profile Description
What you bring to the role:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field
- At least 3 years’ experience in electrical site engineering within construction or renewable energy projects
- Strong experience supervising subcontractors and delivering electrical works on-site
- Solid understanding of LV/MV systems, including grid connections, inverters, and renewable infrastructure
- Familiarity with testing, commissioning, and QA/QC processes
- Knowledge of UK regulations, including IET Wiring Regulations and G99/G100 standards
- Ability to confidently interpret technical drawings and documentation
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary site teams in fast-paced environments
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- A proactive mindset with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and delivery excellence
