Electrical Site Inspector

Duties & Responsibilities: Travel throughout Canada, to visually inspect electrical building systems in the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional buildings industry. Conduct and attend site visits including but not limited to site verifications, inspections, and meetings. Analyze, diagnose, commission, and provide recommendations for electrical/mechanical equipment as needed. Service/maintain/repair lighting systems. Read and interpret product specifications and experience in working with building specifications, drawings and designs. Apply and adhere to national and provincial building codes across Canada. Provides technical support as requested. Utilize technology tools such as tablets, markup software to review, annotate, and update electrical drawings and site documentation. The ability to complete paperwork accurately in a timely manner. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements: A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and access to a personal vehicle. A valid 309A license with at least 5 years of experience is required. A 442A license is considered an asset. Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and their operations. Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as the Canadian Electrical Code, the Canadian National Building Code (NBC), Ontario Building Code (OBC), etc. Familiarity with LEED, ASHRAE, CEC, and energy-efficient design principles (LEED AP or CEM certification is an asset). Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Excellent interpersonal skills with a talent for building relationships. Solid analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills. Flexibility to adapt to various work locations and schedules, including the ability to travel away from home is a must.
