Site Leader – Electrical Team Leader (Water & Wastewater Capital Projects) - Colchester

As part of our water and wastewater capital projects, you’ll contribute to large-scale programmes that keep water infrastructure resilient and environmentally protected.
What Will You Be Doing?
As an Electrical Site Team Leader (reports to Site Manager), you’ll oversee electrical projects from conception to completion on the Anglian Water contract in Colchester.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Manage day-to-day activities of delivery teams and subcontractors.
- Delivery Assurance: Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, on budget, and to required quality and performance standards.
- SHEQ Leadership: Hold full accountability for safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) on-site, including:
- Conducting inspections, toolbox talks, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Recording near-misses and driving continuous improvement.
- Ensuring welfare for site personnel (safe working conditions, valid training, health initiatives).
- Completing and maintaining all SHEQ and corporate documentation accurately.
- Client & Stakeholder Relations: Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Sustainability Focus:
- Minimize waste (physical and non-physical).
- Support efficient project delivery.
- Quality Management:
- Maintain high standards across related operations.
- Influence client and stakeholder decisions effectively.

What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for experience in the following areas:
- Water Infrastructure: Can you demonstrate knowledge and experience in the water or wastewater industry?
- Safety Leadership: Do you hold a SCSMS (Site Safety Management Scheme) certificate?
- Electrical Expertise: Are you trained and experienced in electrical installations, including LV, HV, or renewable technologies, in the construction industry?
- Team & Contractor Management: Can you effectively manage sub-contractors and influence client decisions with influence and empathy?
- Legal & Compliance Knowledge: A good understanding of legislative, SHEQ, and industry requirements?
- Knowledge of H&A regulations, CDM duties, and environmental reporting?
- Technical Skills:
- IT Competency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with basic project/programme management skills in tools like Deliver180 or SAP PM.
- Signals indication experience?
Relevant Background or Experience
- Construction / Electrical skills at NVQ Level 3 or above.
- Health and Safety knowsedge accrediation (preferably SSSTS, SMSTS, or SCSMS).
- Project or programme management experience.
- Good communicator, able to translate data for non-technical audiences.
