Electrical Supervisor
Job ID – Confidential Location – Hemel Hempstead Client – bp Terminals
Contract Duration – 1 month Start Date – 13th July 2026 Working Hours – 5 days per week | 10-hour shifts
Wood is seeking passionate Electrical Supervisors to join our project at bp Hemel Hempstead Terminal. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to essential upgrades and installations, under the supervision of our team.
Scope of Work
Within this temporary role, you will be responsible for overseeing the following key activities:

Pre-Construction (Electrical)
- Installation of cables, cable trays, and Unistrut systems
- Excavation and installation of new cable ductwork, including embedded cables
- Removal and disposal of redundant electrical services

Installation & Testing
- Construction of new control panels within switch rooms
- Installation of new control desks in the main control room
- Termination/glanding of all new cables in panels
- Comprehensive testing of installed cables

Migration Project (Phased Approach)
- Facilitate migration from existing to new equipment

Key Responsibilities
Technical Expertise & Operational Role
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of electrical systems, components, and safety protocols
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings and specifications
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to precision in work
- Proficiency in managing physical tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and materials
- Comfort with working at heights and in confined spaces
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies within operations
** Leadership & Team Pus Role**
- Lead and supervise a crew of electricians and support personnel
- Effective commmunication and collaboration skills
- Strong ability to delegate tasks and ensure workflows align with project timelines
Travel & Availability
- Full manual driving licence required for site travel-logistics
- Willingness to work reasonable overtime when needed to meet project deadlines
Requirements
Essential
✔ Level 3 Electrical Qualification (e.g., apprenticeship or equivalent) ✔ Proven experience as an Electrician in installation/maintenance scenarios ✔ Certified to 18th Edition Wiring Regulations ✔ CompEx EX01-04 qualification for explosive hazard awareness
