About the Role

We are recruiting a proactive and experienced Electrical Supervisor to oversee daily electrical and mechanical support services in our workshop. The role is crucial in planning, organising, and prioritising work to ensure seamless operations. You will lead and develop a team of electrical and mechanical assemblers, ensuring high standards of efficiency, safety, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

As Electrical Supervisor, you will:

  • Plan, organise, prioritise schedules, and allocate resources to maximise productivity and deliver safe, compliant, quality, and timely electrical support services that meet deadlines and required standards.
  • Ensure all electrical test certificates are completed accurately and in compliance with BS7671 regulations, achieving first-time pass results.
  • Manage a team of Electrical and Mechanical Assemblers, fostering their development while maintaining high performance.
  • Prioritise regional electrical services and safety inspection schedules to minimise overdue tasks.
  • Oversee electrical and mechanical installations in control containers, ensuring they are completed and tested in accordance with IEE regulations.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on performance, safety, compliance, quality, and team development.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience of successfully managing an electrical function in a supervisor/senior capacity, with a focus on raising standards, maximising productivity, quality, client service, and upholding a strong health and safety culture. Experience in a similar industry (preferably Construction/Utilities) is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience working as an Electrician, with specialist knowledge of electrical testing and completion of test certificates.
  • ECS Gold Card (with Installation Electrician status).
  • City & Guilds 2391 (Test and Inspection) qualification.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations knowledge.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical health and safety regulations.
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring consistently high-quality standards across all tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and overcome challenges effectively.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, capable of prioritising tasks in a fast-paced electrical/mechanical environment.
  • Deep understanding of all SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) legal, regulatory, and company requirements, ensuring adherence to safety legislation for staff and visitors.
  • Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points), with occasional travel and overnight stays required.
  • This role is subject to a safety-critical medical assessment.
