Senior Electrical Systems Engineer
Bedford | Onsite | Security Clearance Required
A specialist defence engineering business is looking for a Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to take ownership of complex plant, machinery, and site infrastructure.
This is not an electronics product-design role. You’ll work on large industrial systems - maintaining, upgrading, and introducing electrical capability across legacy and new equipment.

- Electrical distribution and power systems
- Motors, drives, and variable-speed drives
- Industrial control systems
- Plant upgrades, refurbishment, and fault investigation
- Supporting installation, commissioning, and technical acceptance
- Taking projects from requirements through to delivery
You’ll ideally bring:
- Strong electrical engineering experience in heavy industry, utilities, power generation, or process plant
- Knowledge of industrial machinery and electrical distribution networks
- Experience with motor control, VSDs, inverters, or drive systems
- Confidence owning technical problems through to resolution
- PLC knowledge is useful, but not essential
