Job Description We are looking for an experienced Electrical System Engineer to join our System Pole team, supporting major UK nuclear infrastructure projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in complex, high-value engineering programmes, contributing to the delivery and commissioning of critical electrical systems. Key Responsibilities: Deliver electrical engineering activities across Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) systems (LV*, LK*, LL*, LI*, LJ*, LG*, 9LGE, 9LGJ). Support system engineering activities related to energy evacuation systems (GEA, GEV, GPA) where required. Work closely with building pilots, providing electrical expertise for: HT-HJ (Power Evacuation Platform) HF (Electrical Building) Contribute to the technical preparation, review, and acceptance of major electrical contracts, including: Power Transmission (SZ3001) Hydrochlorination / CTE (SZ3422) Plant demineralisation (SZ3421) Provide back-office engineering support during commissioning phases at HPC. Liaise with the Joint Design Office (JDO) to ensure timely and effective resolution of technical queries. Qualifications Required Skills: Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline Proven experience in electrical systems engineering (HV/LV) Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or energy projects (nuclear experience desirable) Knowledge of power distribution systems and electrical design standards Strong stakeholder management and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment Required Qualifications: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience. Desirable Skills: Experience working on nuclear projects or within a highly regulated industry (e.g. energy, oil & gas, defence) Knowledge of CI-BOP scope and associated systems Experience with energy evacuation systems (GEA, GEV, GPA) Understanding of electrical buildings and infrastructure, including substations and power evacuation platforms Exposure to commissioning activities and on-site support during project delivery phases Experience reviewing and managing technical documentation and contractor deliverables Knowledge of UK and international electrical standards (e.g. IEC, BS, EDF standards) Previous collaboration with design offices or multidisciplinary engineering teams (e.g. JDO environment) Awareness of contract management and technical acceptance processes Chartered status or working towards CEng (IET or equivalent) Additional Information Why join us?
